Chris Roberts

Deacon

Chris grew up in Hertfordshire and moved to Newhaven with is wife Maureen over 45 years ago. Chris has three daughters and six grandchildren and has been the treasurer of the church for 37 years.

Kate Carver

Deacon

Kate has been attending our church since she was 5 years old. Kate is married to Rick and has three grown up children. As well as helping with our twice weekly Tea & Chat, carrying out many administrative activities and being head chef for church lunches she finds time to work at the local secondary school.

Mandy Ashenden

Deacon

Mandy became a Christian at the age of 13. She has attended our church for about 12 years and a formal member for 7 years. She has always been very active in the Scuttlebugz Parents and Toddlers Group, the twice weekly Tea & Chat and Food Bank, and many special events such as the children’s craft mornings and Light Nights. Mandy is married to Adrian and has three grown up children, five grandchildren and two dogs.

Owen Goodey

Deacon

Owen started coming to our church in 2022, having previously been a very active member of other churches in this part of Sussex, although he was originally an Essex boy! He was welcomed as a committed member of Newhaven Baptist Church in early 2023. He is especially concerned with outreach to young people, helping to set up our youth club which is open to all secondary school age people. Owen is married to Rita, they have two grown up daughters, three granddaughters, a dog and a gerbil all of whom keep him busy when he’s not working.
